Calling out with your business identity
Calls out show your business, not a personal mobile number.
Why it matters
Customers recognise who is calling and call back the line you want them to call.
What it does
Employees call out from their extension. The call shows your business number, or another number you have verified, and your business name.
Each extension has its own calling reach, so you decide who can call locally, across Canada and the United States, or internationally.
How it works
- An employee places a call from a registered phone.
- IVRC checks the extension's calling reach and your emergency (911) readiness.
- The call goes out with your business number and name.
Example
An accountant returns a client's call from her desk phone. The client's phone shows the firm's name and number, so the callback reaches the main line.
Setting it up (administrators)
- Choose which number outgoing calls show on the Caller ID page; add a number with a verification code if you want a different one.
- Set each employee's calling reach.
- Confirm the 911 address for the number.
What employees experience
- Employees dial as usual.
- If the reach does not allow a destination, the call is declined with a clear reason.
Works with
- Compatible IP desk phones and softphone apps registered to an employee's extension
- IVRC business console (any web browser), used by owners and administrators

Add-ons
There are no add-ons for this feature.
Good to know
- Outside calls stay switched off until the number's emergency (911) address is confirmed and the notice is accepted. Calls to 911 are always connected.
- A new employee starts with internal calls only until an administrator allows outside calls.
- Calls to other countries need international calling; see International calling.
